1 Corinthians 14:20-25 ALT
(20) Brothers [and sisters], stop being young children in your understanding, but continue being as a child in evil, but continue becoming perfect [or, complete] in your understanding. (21) In the Law it has been written, "By ones speaking different tongues and by different lips [fig., speech] I will speak to this people, and not even in this manner will they hear Me," says the Lord. [Isaiah 28:11,12; Deut 28:49] (22) So then tongues are for a sign, not to the ones believing but to the unbelieving ones, but prophesy [is] not for the unbelieving ones but for the ones believing. (23) Therefore, if the whole assembly comes together to the same [place] and all are speaking in tongues, and unlearned [ones] or unbelievers comes in, they will say that you are raving mad, will they not? (24) But if all are prophesying, and someone comes in, an unbeliever or an unlearned [one], he is convicted by all, he is called to account by all. (25) And in this way, the secrets of his heart [fig., inner self] become revealed, and in this way, having fallen on [his] face, he will prostrate himself in worship before God, declaring [or, acknowledging] that God truly is among you.

(20) My friends, stop thinking like children. Think like mature people and be as innocent as tiny babies. (21) In the Scriptures the Lord says, "I will use strangers who speak unknown languages to talk to my people. They will speak to them in foreign languages, but still my people won't listen to me." [Isaiah 28:11,12; Deut 28:49] (22) Languages that others don't know may mean something to unbelievers, but not to the Lord's followers. Prophecy, on the other hand, is for followers, not for unbelievers. (23) Suppose everyone in your worship service started speaking unknown languages, and some outsiders or some unbelievers come in. Won't they think you are crazy? (24) But suppose all of you are prophesying when those unbelievers and outsiders come in. They will realize that they are sinners, and they will want to change their ways because of what you are saying. (25) They will tell what is hidden in their hearts. Then they will kneel down and say to God, "We are certain that you are with these people."

(24) But if all are teaching as prophets, and a man without faith or knowledge comes in, he is tested by all, he is judged by all; (25) The secrets of his heart are made clear; and he will go down on his face and give worship to God, saying that God is truly among you.

20 Brothers, do not become young children in powers of understanding, but be babes as to badness; yet become full-grown in powers of understanding. 21 In the Law it is written: “‘With the tongues of foreigners and with the lips of strangers I will speak to this people, and yet not even then will they give heed to me,’ says Jehovah.” [Isaiah 28:11,12; Deut 28:49] 22 Consequently tongues are for a sign, not to the believers, but to the unbelievers, whereas prophesying is, not for the unbelievers, but for the believers. 23 Therefore, if the whole congregation comes together to one place and they all speak in tongues, but ordinary people or unbelievers come in, will they not say that YOU are mad? 24 But if YOU are all prophesying and any unbeliever or ordinary person comes in, he is reproved by them all, he is closely examined by all; 25 the secrets of his heart become manifest, so that he will fall upon [his] face and worship God, declaring: “God is really among YOU.”
