1 Corinthians 3:1-11 NWT 3 And so, brothers, I was not able to speak to YOU as to spiritual men, but as to fleshly men, as to babes in Christ. 2 I fed YOU milk, not something to eat, for YOU were not yet strong enough. In fact, neither are YOU strong enough now, 3 for YOU are yet fleshly. For whereas there are jealousy and strife among YOU, are YOU not fleshly and are YOU not walking as men do? 4 For when one says: “I belong to Paul,” but another says: “I to A·pol´los,” are YOU not simply men? 5 What, then, is A·pol´los? Yes, what is Paul? Ministers through whom YOU became believers, even as the Lord granted each one. 6 I planted, A·pol´los watered, but God kept making [it] grow; 7 so that neither is he that plants anything nor is he that waters, but God who makes [it] grow. 8 Now he that plants and he that waters are one, but each [person] will receive his own reward according to his own labor. 9 For we are God’s fellow workers. YOU people are God’s field under cultivation, God’s building. 10 According to the undeserved kindness of God that was given to me, as a wise director of works I laid a foundation, but someone else is building on it. But let each one keep watching how he is building on it. 11 For no man can lay any other foundation than what is laid, which is Jesus Christ. (Are sects of men who try to get you to join and follow them by a study of their writings, instead of directing you to the words of Christ, aren't they trying to lay a different foundation?)
In line with Jesus's many warnings about false prophets, all of whom claim to speak in his name, we you must remain ever vigilant we are actually listening to Christ. (Mat 7:15; Mat 24:23-28) All religious people encourage you to follow them, and, some are true believers. (Mat 7:21-23) Only true Christians, however, hear God's command to listen to his son (Mat 17:5) and are actually doing that by reading the words of Jesus in Matthew, Mark, Luke and 
. They are the ones being drawn by (or being baptized in) God's spirit. (John 6:44; Acts 11:16; 1 Cor 12:13)

(2) I fed you with milk, not solid food, for you were not ready for it. And even now you are not yet ready, (3) for you are still of the flesh. For while there is jealousy and strife among you, are you not of the flesh and behaving only in a human way? (4) For when one says, "I follow Paul," and another, "I follow Apollos," are you not being merely human? (5) What then is Apollos? What is Paul? Servants through whom you believed, as the Lord assigned to each. (6) I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth. (7) So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God who gives the growth. (8) He who plants and he who waters are one, and each will receive his wages according to his labor. (9) For we are God's fellow workers. You are God's field, God's building. (10) According to the grace of God given to me, like a skilled master builder I laid a foundation, and someone else is building upon it. Let each one take care how he builds upon it. (11) For no one can lay a foundation other than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. When there is jealousy among you and you quarrel with one another, doesn't this prove that you belong to this world, living by its standards? (4) When one of you says, "I follow Paul," and another, "I follow Apollos"---aren't you acting like worldly people? (5) After all, who is Apollos? And who is Paul? We are simply God's servants, by whom you were led to believe. Each one of us does the work which the Lord gave him to do: (6) I planted the seed, Apollos watered the plant, but it was God who made the plant grow. (7) The one who plants and the one who waters really do not matter. It is God who matters, because he makes the plant grow. (8) There is no difference between the one who plants and the one who waters; God will reward each one according to the work each has done. (9) For we are partners working together for God, and you are God's field. You are also God's building. (10) Using the gift that God gave me, I did the work of an expert builder and laid the foundation, and someone else is building on it. But each of you must be careful how you build. (11) For God has already placed Jesus Christ as the one and only foundation, and no other foundation can be laid. (10) In the measure of the grace given to me, I, as a wise master-builder, have put the base in position, and another goes on building on it. But let every man take care what he puts on it.
