(1) Dear friends, don't believe everyone who claims to have the Spirit of God. Test them all to find out if they really do come from God. Many false prophets have already gone out into the world,

The simple test for asserted Christian teachers is this:
Everyone directing you to recognize and follow God's only later-day command to listen to his son (Mat 17:5) has the spirit of God. (John 6:63) Those who direct you to follow them or some sect of men, saying your protection is somehow tied to them, are false prophets. (Mat 7:15‑20; Acts 4:8‑13)
