(11) You must turn away from evil and do good; you must strive for peace with all your heart. (12) For the LORD ( יהוה ) watches over the righteous and listens to their prayers; but he opposes those who do evil." (14) But if you truly suffer because of righteousness, blessed are you. "But do not fear their fear, nor be disturbed.
(15) But sanctify" the Lord in your hearts, (Isaiah 9:6-7 ; Acts 4:8-12) and always be ready to give an answer to everyone asking you a reason concerning the hope in you, with meekness and fear,
(16) having a good conscience, that while they speak against you as evildoers, they may be shamed, those falsely accusing your good behavior in Christ.
