Acts 5:38-42 NWT
38 And so, under the present circumstances, I say to you, Do not meddle with these men, but let them alone; (because, if this scheme or this work is from men, it will be overthrown; 39 but if it is from God, you will not be able to overthrow them;) otherwise, you may perhaps be found fighters actually against God." 40 At this they gave heed to him, and they summoned the apostles, flogged them, and ordered them to stop speaking upon the basis of Jesus's name, and let them go. 41 These, therefore, went their way from before the Sanhedrin, rejoicing because they had been counted worthy to be dishonored in behalf of his name. 42 And every day in the temple and from house to house they continued without letup teaching and declaring the good news about the Christ, Jesus.

Acts 5:38-42 GNB
(38) And so in this case, I tell you, do not take any action against these men. Leave them alone! If what they have planned and done is of human origin, it will disappear, (39) but if it comes from God, you cannot possibly defeat them. You could find yourselves fighting against God!" The Council followed Gamaliel's advice. (40) They called the apostles in, had them whipped, and ordered them never again to speak in the name of Jesus; and then they set them free. (41) As the apostles left the Council, they were happy, because God had considered them worthy to suffer disgrace for the sake of Jesus. (42) And every day in the Temple and in people's homes they continued to teach and preach the Good News about Jesus the Messiah.

Acts 5:38-42 CEV
(38) So I advise you to stay away from these men. Leave them alone. If what they are planning is something of their own doing, it will fail. (39) But if God is behind it, you cannot stop it anyway, unless you want to fight against God. The council members agreed with what he said, (40) and they called the apostles back in. They had them beaten with a whip and warned them not to speak in the name of Jesus. Then they let them go. (41) The apostles left the council and were happy, because God had considered them worthy to suffer for the sake of Jesus. (42) Every day they spent time in the temple and in one home after another. They never stopped teaching and telling the good news that Jesus is the Messiah.

You will note the reference windows often include more than one translation of the Bible. The reason is to strive to gain the best possible understanding of the original Hebrew and Greek. Since we don't speak those languages, we rely on those who have come before and made the effort to translate those texts into English for us. Considering several translations gives the benefit of the understanding of several translation committees or individuals.
The Translations we quote are:

ALT - Analytical Literal Translation

ASV - American Standard Version (by the American revision committee in 1897).

Darby - 1889 Darby Bible

DRB - 1899 Douay-Rheims Bible

BBE - 1965 Bible in Basic English

LITV - Literal Translation of the Holy Bible

KJV - King James Version

MKJV - Modern King James Version

NWT - New World Translation

Webster - 1833 Webster Bible

RV - Revised Version
