Exodus 15:1-21 GNB ...Then Moses and the Israelites sang this song to the LORD   (): "I will sing to the LORD  (), because he has won a glorious victory; he has thrown the horses and their riders into the sea. (2) The LORD  () is my strong defender; he is the one who has saved me. He is my God, and I will praise him, my father's God, and I will sing about his greatness. (3) The LORD  () is a warrior; the LORD  () is his name. (4) "He threw Egypt's army and its chariots into the sea; the best of its officers were drowned in the Red Sea. (5) The deep sea covered them; they sank to the bottom like a stone. (6) "Your right hand, LORD  (), is awesome in power; it breaks the enemy in pieces. (7) In majestic triumph you overthrow your foes; your anger blazes out and burns them up like straw. (8) You blew on the sea and the water piled up high; it stood up straight like a wall; the deepest part of the sea became solid. (9) The enemy said, 'I will pursue them and catch them; I will divide their wealth and take all I want; I will draw my sword and take all they have.' (10) But one breath from you, LORD  (), and the Egyptians were drowned; they sank like lead in the terrible water. (11) " LORD  (), who among the gods is like you? Who is like you, wonderful in holiness? Who can work miracles and mighty acts like yours? (12) You stretched out your right hand, and the earth swallowed our enemies. (13) Faithful to your promise, you led the people you had rescued; by your strength you guided them to your sacred land. (14) The nations have heard, and they tremble with fear; the Philistines are seized with terror. (15) The leaders of Edom are terrified; Moab's mighty men are trembling; the people of Canaan lose their courage. (16) Terror and dread fall upon them. They see your strength, O LORD  (), and stand helpless with fear until your people have marched past--- the people you set free from slavery. (17) You bring them in and plant them on your mountain, the place that you, LORD  (), have chosen for your home, the Temple that you yourself have built. (18) You, LORD  (), will be king forever and ever." (19) The Israelites walked through the sea on dry ground. But when the Egyptian chariots with their horses and drivers went into the sea, the LORD  () brought the water back, and it covered them. (20) The prophet Miriam, Aaron's sister, took her tambourine, and all the women followed her, playing tambourines and dancing. (21) Miriam sang for them: "Sing to the LORD  (), because he has won a glorious victory; he has thrown the horses and their riders into the sea."

(17) You shall bring them in and plant them in the mountain of Your inheritance, the place You have made for Your dwelling place, O Jehovah  (); the sanctuary which Your hands have prepared, O Lord. (18) Jehovah  () reigns forever and ever! (19) For the horses of Pharaoh went in with his chariots and his horsemen into the sea, and Jehovah  () brought back the waters of the sea on them; and the sons of Israel walked on dry land in the midst of the sea. (20) And the sister of Aaron, Miriam the prophetess, took the timbrel in her hand, and all the women went out after her with timbrels and with dances. (21) And Miriam answered to them, Sing to Jehovah  (), for triumphing He has triumphed gloriously; He has thrown the horse and its rider into the sea.

You sent out your burning anger. It burned them up like straw. (8) With a blast from your nostrils, the water piled up. The waves stood up like a dam. The deep water thickened in the middle of the sea. (9) "The enemy said, 'I'll pursue them! I'll catch up with them! I'll divide the loot! I'll take all I want! I'll use my sword! I'll take all they have!' (10) Your breath blew the sea over them. They sank like lead in the raging water. (11) "Who is like you among the gods, O LORD  ()? Who is like you? You are glorious because of your holiness and awe-inspiring because of your splendor. You perform miracles. (12) You stretched out your right hand. The earth swallowed them. (13) "Lovingly, you will lead the people you have saved. Powerfully, you will guide them to your holy dwelling. (14) People will hear of it and tremble. The people of Philistia will be in anguish. (15) The tribal leaders of Edom will be terrified. The powerful men of Moab will tremble. The people of Canaan will be deathly afraid. (16) Terror and dread will fall on them. Because of the power of your arm, they will be petrified until your people pass by, O LORD  (), until the people you purchased pass by. (17) You will bring them and plant them on your own mountain, the place where you live, O LORD  (), the holy place that you built with your own hands, O Lord. (18) The LORD  () will rule as king forever and ever." (19) When Pharaoh's horses, chariots, and cavalry went into the sea, the LORD  () made the water of the sea flow back over them. However, the Israelites had gone through the sea on dry ground. (20) Then the prophet Miriam, Aaron's sister, took a tambourine in her hand. All the women, dancing with tambourines, followed her. (21) Miriam sang to them: "Sing to the LORD  (). He has won a glorious victory. He has thrown horses and their riders into the sea."

The horse and its rider he has pitched into the sea.  2 My strength and [my] might is Jah, since he serves for my salvation. This is my God, and I shall laud him; my father’s God, and I shall raise him on high.  3 Jehovah  () is a manly person of war. Jehovah  () is his name.  4 Phar´aoh’s chariots and his military forces he has cast into the sea, And the choice of his warriors have been sunk in the Red Sea.  5 The surging waters proceeded to cover them; down they went into the depths like a stone.  6 Your right hand, O Jehovah  (), is proving itself powerful in ability, Your right hand, O Jehovah  (), can shatter an enemy.  7 And in the abundance of your superiority you can throw down those who rise up against you; You send out your burning anger, it eats them up like stubble.  8 And by a breath from your nostrils waters were heaped up; They stood still like a dam of floods; The surging waters were congealed in the heart of the sea.  9 The enemy said, ‘I shall pursue! I shall overtake! I shall divide spoil! My soul will be filled with them! I shall draw my sword! My hand will drive them away!’ 10 You blew with your breath, the sea covered them; They sank like lead in majestic waters. 11 Who among the gods is like you, O Jehovah  ()? Who is like you, proving yourself mighty in holiness? The One to be feared with songs of praise, the One doing marvels. 12 You stretched out your right hand, the earth proceeded to swallow them up. 13 You in your loving-kindness have led the people whom you have recovered; You in your strength will certainly conduct them to your holy abiding place. 14 Peoples must hear, they will be agitated; Birth pangs must take hold on the inhabitants of Phi·lis´ti·a. 15 At that time the sheiks of E´dom will indeed be disturbed; As for the despots of Mo´ab, trembling will take hold on them. All the inhabitants of Ca´naan will indeed be disheartened. 16 Fright and dread will fall upon them. Because of the greatness of your arm they will be motionless like a stone, Until your people pass by, O Jehovah  (), Until the people whom you have produced pass by. 17 You will bring them and plant them in the mountain of your inheritance, An established place that you have made ready for you to inhabit, O Jehovah  (), A sanctuary, O Jehovah  (), that your hands have established. 18 Jehovah  () will rule as king to time indefinite, even forever. 19 When Phar´aoh’s horses with his war chariots and his cavalrymen went into the sea, Then Jehovah  () brought back the waters of the sea upon them, While the sons of Israel walked on dry land through the midst of the sea.” 20 And Mir´i·am the prophetess, Aaron’s sister, proceeded to take a tambourine in her hand; and all the women began going out with her with tambourines and in dances. 21 And Mir´i·am kept responding to the men: “Sing to Jehovah  (), for he has become highly exalted. The horse and its rider he has pitched into the sea.”
