John 6:28-40 GW The people asked Jesus, "What does God want us to do?" (29) Jesus replied to them, "God wants to do something for you so that you believe in the one whom he has sent." (30) The people asked him, "What miracle are you going to perform so that we can see it and believe in you? What are you going to do? (31) Our ancestors ate the manna in the desert. Scripture says, 'He gave them bread from heaven to eat.'" (32) Jesus said to them, "I can guarantee this truth: Moses didn't give you bread from heaven, but my Father gives you the true bread from heaven. (33) God's bread is the man who comes from heaven and gives life to the world." (34) They said to him, "Sir, give us this bread all the time." (35) Jesus told them, "I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never become hungry, and whoever believes in me will never become thirsty. (36) I've told you that you have seen me. However, you don't believe in me. (37) Everyone whom the Father gives me will come to me. I will never turn away anyone who comes to me. (38) I haven't come from heaven to do what I want to do. I've come to do what the one who sent me wants me to do. (39) The one who sent me doesn't want me to lose any of those he gave me. He wants me to bring them back to life on the last day. (40) My Father wants all those who see the Son and believe in him to have eternal life. He wants me to bring them back to life on the last day." [See: John 11:26]
John 6:28-40 GNB So they asked him, "What can we do in order to do what God wants us to do?" (29) Jesus answered, "What God wants you to do is to believe in the one he sent." (30) They replied, "What miracle will you perform so that we may see it and believe you? What will you do? (31) Our ancestors ate manna in the desert, just as the scripture says, 'He gave them bread from heaven to eat.' " (32) "I am telling you the truth," Jesus said. "What Moses gave you was not the bread from heaven; it is my Father who gives you the real bread from heaven. (33) For the bread that God gives is he who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world." (34) "Sir," they asked him, "give us this bread always." (35) "I am the bread of life," Jesus told them. "Those who come to me will never be hungry; those who believe in me will never be thirsty. (36) Now, I told you that you have seen me but will not believe. (37) Everyone whom my Father gives me will come to me. I will never turn away anyone who comes to me, (38) because I have come down from heaven to do not my own will but the will of him who sent me. (39) And it is the will of him who sent me that I should not lose any of all those he has given me, but that I should raise them all to life on the last day. (40) For what my Father wants is that all who see the Son and believe in him should have eternal life. And I will raise them to life on the last day." [See: John 11:26]
John 6:28-40 ESV Then they said to him, "What must we do, to be doing the works of God?" (29) Jesus answered them, "This is the work of God, that you believe in him whom he has sent." (30) So they said to him, "Then what sign do you do, that we may see and believe you? What work do you perform? (31) Our fathers ate the manna in the wilderness; as it is written, 'He gave them bread from heaven to eat.'" (32) Jesus then said to them, "Truly, truly, I say to you, it was not Moses who gave you the bread from heaven, but my Father gives you the true bread from heaven. (33) For the bread of God is he who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world." (34) They said to him, "Sir, give us this bread always." (35) Jesus said to them, "I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst. (36) But I said to you that you have seen me and yet do not believe. (37) All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never cast out. (38) For I have come down from heaven, not to do my own will but the will of him who sent me. (39) And this is the will of him who sent me, that I should lose nothing of all that he has given me, but raise it up on the last day. (40) For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who looks on the Son and believes in him should have eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day." [See: John 11:26]

You will note the reference windows often include more than one translation of the Bible. The reason is to strive to gain the best possible understanding of the original Hebrew and Greek. Since we don't speak those languages, we rely on those who have come before and made the effort to translate those texts into English for us. Considering several translations gives the benefit of the understanding of several translation committees or individuals.
